Derby name origin: It's from Edgar Allan Poe's poem Annabel Lee, plus I was an English teacher in Baltimore in which I taught my favorite poem.

What brought you to Free State? DC Pride. I've always wanted to play but was informed of the Fresh Meat program and Slamazon Beast hugged me at DC Pride until I said I'd go to the open house.

Are you a member of any committees or have off-skates roles?

Yes. I am the Kindness Coordinator.

Do you have a skating/athletic background? I have played basketball my entire life, and still play, as well as volleyball for a big portion of my life. I have also been on skates growing up and you could usually find me at local roller rinks, my neighborhood, skating parties, etc!

Likes : Kind people, the color green, spending time with my partner, basketball, pineapple, photography, trying new things, Oprah, Halloween.

Dislikes: Hate and judging others for the way they live their lives.

What is your Non-Derby-Related job? I am a former 8th grade English/Language Arts teacher and current grad student at the University of Maryland for School Counseling. I also do professional photography on the side.
