As the only women’s, flat-track roller derby league in Montgomery County, MD, Free State Roller Derby (FSRD) is hometown and homegrown. Founded in November 2009, FSRD is 100 percent volunteer-run by a growing group of devoted skaters and Fresh Meat, and is backed by a dedicated crew of referees and non-skating officials (NSOs).

FSRD is a 501(c)(3) organization.

What do you do for FSRD? Skater - Rock Villains

Hometown: Columbia, MD

When did you start skating? May 2013

What do you do in the real world? Lobbyist for several voluntary health organizations, professional healthcare societies, and minority health schools.

Tell us more about your decision to join roller derby? My mom started first and I thought it would be fun to try!

What's your favorite derby memory? Finally skating a bout with Free State after years of school, moving, and changing jobs.  Also, getting MVP Jammer.

What's your secret talent? I'm a phenomenal cook.  I don't think that's a secret, though.

Notable injuries: None yet - don't jinx it!

Likes: Running, weight lifting, cooking and eating good food, fancy cocktails, and live shows (of all kinds).

The Patronus Charm is an ancient and mysterious charm that conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings; a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity. What's your derby Patronus and why?

Potter more says it's a Marsh Harrier, which is apparently a bird that surprise-ambushes its prey. That's something I could identify with.
